What is EFT?

EFT is a therapeutic approach based on the premise that emotions are key to identity. According to EFT, emotions are also a guide for individual choice and decision making.

As a therapist qualified in EFT, I can help anyone seeking assistance with a range of concerns as I help them to become more aware of their emotions. In this approach to treatment, I collaborate with you – this type of therapy is an active process. You, not myself, are the person most capable of interpreting your emotional experience.

EFT is founded in the idea that emotions should be used to guide healthy, meaningful lives.

EFT sessions typically centre around the development of two key skills:

1. Arriving at one's emotions through increased awareness and acceptance.

2. Learning to transform emotions and better use the information they provide to avoid negative or harmful behaviours or other effects of certain emotions.

Be assured that any session with me will be approached with compassion, reflection and zero judgement. This will allow you come to a better understanding of your emotions. We will consider it to have been successful when you have an increased awareness of your emotional experience and maybe even an improved ability to regulate your emotions and be better able to transform unhelpful emotions.
